The seventh season of "American Idol" premieres tonight.  Will you be watching, or are you over it?

I was over it before it even started.  I have never watched more than a few minutes of American Idol - I don't see why I should start now.

How are you spending New Year's Eve?

I work that night until 10pm.  After work I'll come home and shower, then watch the ball drop in my pajamas.

Where is the farthest you have ever been away from home? Did you get homesick?

It's hard to say since I have lived so many places that are far from family.  I guess the farthest trip I've taken from where I was living at the time was when I went to a Lutheran Student Fellowship National Gathering in Albuquerque NM in December of 1998.  At the time I was living in Michigan.  It was a fun trip, but I think it's the first time in my life I've been disappointed that there was no snow!  I had so been looking forward to learning how to ski, but the slopes were completely without snow since the weather had been unseasonably warm - in the upper 60s - so even their snow machines had been shut down!
